MPS Law Welcomes New Associate Kevin Flavin

MPS Law, a widely respected Chicago area business-to-business law firm, is pleased to welcome Kevin Flavin as a new Associate.

Flavin will focus primarily on corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, business formation, business separations, and corporate, industrial and asset-based lending matters. His expertise is bolstered by an extensive professional background in business and finance.

Prior to attending law school at DePaul University College of Law, Flavin worked as a Financial Analyst for Bank of America, where he played a key role in transitioning their investment products to Merrill Lynch’s trading platform after the 2009 merger between the two financial services giants. From there he moved to Northern Trust, where he spent four years rising through the ranks of the bank’s Investment Manager Liaison Group.

Flavin also worked two years as a Project Assistant in the Chicago offices of Kirkland & Ellis, which he joined immediately after graduating with his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He completed his law degree from DePaul in May, 2019 and in September joined MPS Law, where he had previously interned as a law clerk in 2018.

“The depth of Kevin’s background is truly unique for a first-year associate, and will prove to be a significant asset for our transactional team today and tomorrow,” says MPS managing partner Bill Mitchell. “We are committed to growing the firm organically, training new associates who will become highly skilled attorneys in their field and who will lead the firm in the future. We are also committed to continuing to grow and service our corporate law practice, which accounts for approximately half of the firm’s business.”

In a field where success is typically measured in terms of growth, Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle is that rare law firm where success is defined solely by the needs and satisfaction of the clients it serves. Founded in 1996, we maintain offices in Schaumburg and downtown Chicago, with 35 attorneys working in 11 select practice areas focused on real estate, litigation, business and employment law.
