Deborah Schmitt Bussert, a civil and commercial litigator in Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle LLC, has received three appointments.

She was named to the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Arbitration Panel and was appointed an AAA mediator.

Bussert was named a public arbitrator for NASD Dispute Resolution. The agency handles the resolution of monetary, business and employment Disputes between investors, securities firms, and employees of securities firms.

Bussert was appointed co-vice chair of The Chicago Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee for the 2006-07 year.

She is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Council, a position she has held for the past three years.
