Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle LLC Adds Three Attorneys

The law firm of Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle LLC, with offices in Chicago and Schaumburg, has added attorneys to its staff, bringing the number of attorneys in the firm to 25.

Joining the firm as associate attorneys are Richard J. Jancasz and David L. Kane. Donald Mulack will serve as of counsel to the firm.

Richard Jancasz was a litigation associate at Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon, LLP from September 2002 until joining Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle. He received his J.D. cum laude from DePaul University College of Law in May 2002.

Prior to joining Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle LLC, David Kane was employed at Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman and Freeborn & Peters LLP as a bankruptcy, reorganization, and creditors’ rights associate, where he represented creditors, debtors, trustees, and committees in a variety of bankruptcy proceedings. He received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2002.

Donald Mulack, who has spent his entire legal career as a trial lawyer, has represented corporations, financial institutions and developers in contract and other commercial litigation. Experienced in trademark litigation, he argued and won the landmark trademark case in the U. S. Supreme Court in March 1995, where the court determined that color alone can be a trademark.

Mulack served as chair of the Chicago Crime Commission from 1995-97. He was an assistant attorney general, State of Illinois, and was chief of the office’s consumer fraud division from 1973-76. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1966 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1979. He received his J.D. from IIT/Chicago Kent College of Law in 1966.
